Give a Classroom
Classrooms are the core of any educational experience. At Ivy (and all Montessori schools), our classrooms are composed of children from different grade levels, where learners become “teachers” and “teachers” become learners. The adults in the room, named the Guide and Assistant Guide, steer the students in their self-directed learning experience. Each classroom at Ivy has its own unique community, named after bridges in Portland, OR. While roaming the halls, you will see names like Hawthorne, Broadway, Sellwood, and others. We will bring this tradition to the new Interstate Building and are giving large dollar donors an opportunity to support a classroom of their choice.
Be the first on the list, and choose the classroom you wish to support and be recognized for. Just one donor will be recognized at each room. It is also a great opportunity to leave a legacy in memory of an important person in your or your child’s lives.
Student classrooms will maintain their current names, with recognition given to the donor at the entrance. For other function rooms (library, gymnasium, art room), donors will choose from a list of pre-approved Portland or Northwest place names, and be recognized at the entrance to the room.
