Read-a-thon Has Begun!

The kids are excited to start reading next week.  This week, help them go out and get pledges from sponsors so that every minute of their reading not only enriches their own lives as readers but also enriches their learning environment at school by raising funds!

All students went home with a Read-a-thon packet this week that included a letter explaining the Read-a-thon, a calendar with all of the important Read-a-thon dates, a sponsor sheet, a reading log, and raffle tickets.  If you need any more of any of these materials, you can find them on the PTA page of the Ivy website or you can pick up copies outside of the office at each campus.

Good luck getting those sponsor pledges this week!  And get ready to start reading onMonday, October 27th!

Please contact JacQueline if you are interested in helping with the Read-a-Thon or if you have any questions.

Lunch Orders Due Thursday!!!

November lunch menus went home with students on Monday and need to be returned by tomorrow, Thursday, November 23rd.  Fresh N Local provided us with an alternate menu for students with dietary restrictions in addition to the regular menu.  The alternative menu includes a Gluten Free option as well as a Vegetarian/Dairy Free/Egg Free option. These are available on request.

Prescott Work Party on Oct 24th

Join us for a work party at the Prescott Campus Friday, October 24th, beginning at 11am.  Directly after early dismissal this Friday a small work party will be forming at the Prescott campus to help spread the playground chips in the back yard. The PTA has purchased 22 yards of playground chips for Prescott with some of the money raised last school year for our outdoor spaces. The playground chips will be delivered and blown in to the back yard on Friday morning. We need volunteers to bring a rake, work gloves (for you and your child) and help us spread the playground chips. The more volunteers, the quicker this will be done!We may have a mulch donation from a local arborist coming Friday morning as well to enhance the planted spaces in the back and side yards. If that is the case, we will need some volunteers to help us wheelbarrow and spread the mulch in the different parts of the yard.

Staff at Morris is currently forming a plan with the PTA Outdoors Committee for how best to use the money for that campus and we will keep the community updated as we know more.

If you know ahead of time you and your child can join us please let Muriah or Becky know.

THANK YOU!

ICD Still Needs Parent Volunteers

International Children’s Day (ICD) is fast approaching.  On Tuesday, October 28th, each classroom will be transformed to represent a region of the world with colorful displays, food tastings, art projects, music, and so much more.  ICD can only be accomplished with the help of many parent volunteers. Unfortunately, many classrooms are still quite short on number of volunteers. If you can help by setting up, cleaning up, baking, manning an art project, or by offering decorations/items related to your region please reach out to your child’s room parent. This is a super fun day for all involved!
