School Events Canceled

In response to the announcement from Governor Kate Brown advising steps for managing the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon. The guidelines encompass large gatherings, workplace provisions, long-term and assisted living and several of them impact our schools.

In addition to previous guidance issued on March 8, 2020 (https://www.oregon.gov/ode/students-and-family/healthsafety/Pages/COVID19.aspx) to keep schools open, all non-essential school-associated gatherings and group activities will be canceled — such as group parent meetings, field trips and open houses. Governor Brown will hold a press conference this morning to discuss these new steps in greater detail.

Cancellations include but are not limited to the following Events:
  •  All Guest Speakers
  • Middle School Info night March 12
  • Equity planning March 14
  • Read and Write-Athon Ice cream Party March 13
  • Right Brain Middle School arts Event
  • Equity Conversations March 31
  • Field Trips
  • Auction April 4.
  • Tours (March – April)
  • Classroom volunteers and observers
These new measures are based on the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Oregon public health experts, epidemiologists, and health professionals. We will continue to update families on a regular basis when new recommendations occur.
In case of School Closure:
Ivy is working on a plan for continued learning that may include online learning and work packets. We will send out detailed information should the school need to close.

We will continue sanitizing surfaces, handrails, water fountains etc often during the day. Staff will also continue to encourage and emphasis hand washing.

Those experiencing symptoms of cold or flu should stay home.

Contact the school with questions or concerns

Thank you for your continued  cooperation and understanding.
